Deliver an elevator pitch that works!
Here’s the million dollar question… how do you tell people what you do without it being confusing or worse, boring? Follow this framework on how to sell what it is that you do in 30 seconds (or less depending on how many floors you have to go up).
1. Get their attention with a quote, fact, statistic… anything that relates to you, your industry or what you do
2. Introduce yourself (quickly) i.e. I am …. and we do ….
3. Compare yourself with a metaphor for easier understanding i.e. it’s kind of like….
4. Outline your features and benefits of your best selling products / services
5. What is your point of difference / why you’re better than your competitors
6. If there’s still time before reaching the penthouse, hand over your business card and ask them if it’s okay to connect with them
7. Relish in the fact that you’ve introduced who you are, what you do and given them a fun metaphor to remember you by, in less than 30 seconds. Job done.
