I can + I will = confidence
The good news is that confidence is not something you are born with, it is something you learn and adapt into a way of thinking. You certainly have been very lucky if you have grown up surrounded by confident people who have instilled that in you, then you are capable of anything mentally. However if you did not have that luxury, it is never too late to get that amazing confidence happening within you.
People love to be around confident people, it makes them feel better. They are generally great leaders, and they instil confidence and positivity in ourselves.
I grew up surrounded by people with confidence and ability. I remember as a young child spending a lot of time with Sarina Russo. She was always upbeat, happy, smiling, thriving in her life, positive, talking about growth in her business. I used to walk away from seeing her with the line from the movie 'When Harry met Sally', "I'll have what she's having.".
The Oxford dictionary says that to be confident is to have or show certainty. Confidence can mean different things to different people. Working with my clients, the important things that come up in relation to having confidence are:
Having clarity on what you want to be and have in both your personal and business life. Clear goals that will help you be the best YOU possible. Be realistic in your goal setting first up, always know your strengths and your weaknesses. Your strengths will help you to get there faster, your weaknesses will not hold you back as long as you are aware of them, and keep them under control.
Have a strategy in place and a clear understanding of how to action those changes that you are going to implement. Be clear on what needs to be done to achieve your goals. Time frames are also very important here. Otherwise we can just put things off forever.
Believe that you can. Self-belief is so powerful. When you believe you can, it does not matter what others think. This is possible with some mindset changes. It is about taking the fear away, or at least controlling it, not letting it control you.
Have someone in your life that you trust that will guide you on the journey. If you listen to all the chatter out there it will only confuse you and will take you longer to get to where you are going. Remember sometimes people like to hold you back, it makes them feel comfortable for you to not change.
Be in control of your own life, and the outcome.
So what is stopping YOU? What is holding you back from being the best version of you, not only for yourself, but for those around you? Time to take control of exactly what you need to do, to be CONFIDENT YOU.
After being a small business owner for 25 years, I sold my business to concentrate on my true passion: people.
I want to help you find your WHY and your HOW, and to make the necessary changes to improve your business and personal life. Taking control of where you are, but more importantly where you want to be, is what it is all about.
You need to work out what is stopping you, and what changes need to be made or improved on, so you can move forward with gusto and determination. Go get the life you want, it's ready for you!
I’d love to hear from you. x TM.
